Zane Mathews

I did my first radio show back in high school on a small reel-to-reel machine, and I have been hooked on radio ever since. I started in radio in 2003, and there's no other place I would rather be. I’m a native of Colorado, but I have to tell you, living on the western slope is where it’s at. When I'm not in the studio at work, my favorite things to do are drink coffee, play golf, watch football and classic TV and movies, and enjoy good music.

This Week is the Best Time to See Uranus With the Naked Eye

This week, the planet Uranus is only 1.77 billion miles from earth.  Believe it or not, that's close enough to see it. Normally, Uranus can barely be seen with the naked eye on a very dark, clear night. The tricky part is having a dark enough sky - and knowing exactly where to look. This week gives us an even better chance to see Uranus, due to it's "close" proximity to earth.

Grand Junction Downtown Car Show Was Awesome! [PHOTOS]

The 12th annual Fuoco Motor Company Downtown Car Show had so many cool cars on display, it was very difficult trying to select a favorite. There were over 150 in the show and they all looked terrific. Of course, KOOL 107.9 selected the KOOLest Car in the show and there were several awards given. I don't know if any of these cars won awards, but these were some of my favorites.
